About Telia
The Beginning
Our story begins in the interwar period, when the son of an industrialist of that time returned from his studies abroad with development ideologies and the desire to lay the foundations of a company built around the trade of raw materials for the light textile industry. Initially, he brought silks from Italy, and success was not long in coming. The business developed rapidly, collaborating with several suppliers from Italy and Germany.
At that time, it was called "Textila Buzești," inspired by the company's location on Buzești Street in Bucharest, a stone's throw from Victory Square.
Over time, commercial activity transformed into production. Machinery was brought from Germany, and in Bucharest, its own weaving mill was opened, thus creating the first materials produced within this family business, which opened a new chapter in its history in the textile field.
However, the change of political regime brought nationalization. The machinery and properties were confiscated, and our journey in the world of textiles took a break for almost 60 years.
2012
In 2012, the family legacy was revitalized by the next generation, represented by Irina and Dragoș. With a deep passion for tradition and great respect for quality, they decided to revive a significant chapter in the history of their inspiring ancestors.
Thus, they began to create Telia, a brand that symbolizes authenticity and durability.
Their journey was marked by the careful selection of materials, choosing fabrics from Italy, renowned for their fineness. With every woven fiber, Irina and Dragoș aimed to convey not just products, but also stories, emotions, and a cultural heritage. Thus, Telia became a bridge between past and present, bringing the know-how of their ancestors to life in a contemporary form.
Adapting to the demands of the modern consumer, Telia has managed to establish itself in the market as a symbol of quality and refinement. Each creation reflects not only aesthetics but also a philosophy of sustainability, continuing the legacy of generations with respect and honor.
2017
In 2017, the time came for us to start developing our own product, built according to our criteria of quality, aesthetics, and refinement. It was the natural step towards defining Telia's identity more clearly and creating a selection that reflects our vision of premium materials.
2021
In 2021, Telia took a significant step in its development by strengthening its digital presence. We wanted to bring our world of fabrics closer to customers, maintaining the same attention to selection, consultation, and the experience of making the right choice.
2024
The brand has consolidated its identity around the idea of premium selection, personalized consulting, and genuine attention to each client's projects, from unique pieces to elaborate collections and apparel projects.
Telia has continued to expand its universe of materials and to develop a clearer, more coherent, and more refined experience, both in the showroom and online.
